vdhamer 0 Posted August 17, 2003 Here is a someone's views on what appears to be a conflict on the same day between the Protezione Civile (the Italian National Guard) and kite surfers. The plane probably complained about having to avoid both mountains and kite surfers while turning back towards the fires. Link to comment
vdhamer 0 Posted September 5, 2003 A plane scooping up water in midflight from a small lake in Italy. The water was used to fight nearby forest fires (this was during the draught this summer). The pilot's flying abilities were very impressive: totally level flight above the lake even while the plane was taking in hundreds of kilograms of water.Any comments on the foto? Link to comment
matt_l.1 0 Posted September 19, 2003 Nice idea for composition, but the noise (is this an extremely cropped digital image?) is excessive. Link to comment
vdhamer 0 Posted September 19, 2003 Matt: It is indeed a digital image. But the picture is roughly 50% of the full width. But at 3000x2000 pixels resolution, that was only a minor part of the problem. The remaining complications are ISO 400 (should be OK on a Canon 10D) and especially the extreme lighting: edge of dark forest and bright, shimmering water. I guess you could say the photo is severely underexposed (even though more light would have washed out much of the water). That's why I had a lot of work to do in Paint Shop Pro to get somewhat presentable (used a gradient as a correction filter for both brightness and contrast). This was the best I could do. thestory 0 Posted October 26, 2003 You can speak in thousand of kilos. Peter look at my single photo folder. Ther is two of this plane. I took this picture this summer as the plane were flying above the NICE town (FRANCE)just over my house. At Full digital telephoto there is a lot of noise in the blue sky.Not really spectacular but show some details of the plane Link to comment
vdhamer 0 Posted October 29, 2003 You are right about the type of plane, Jean Pierre, and about its water capacity. See this page about the plane. Link to comment
