feodordefemina 0 Posted July 1, 2013 Wow, the moon looks like a mouldy cantaloupe. If it is the moon. Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 303 Posted July 1, 2013 I also have my own moon to put it where I find suitable! Very difficult thing to take a good, razor sharp picture of the moon! Well done Tina! Best regards PDE Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted July 2, 2013 Tina,Not an easy task as I'm certain you discovered!Would be interesting to know what lens and shooting criteria you used also.Well done!As Pierre indicates, . . . "everyone needs their own moon!"Cheers,Jim j. Link to comment
Tina Karina 58 Posted July 3, 2013 Feodor,Thank you very much for your comment.Yes, it's the moon, the super moon. For me does not look like a cantaloupe but it looks like a watermelon. When I look at the moon always reminds me of watermelon.Best, Tina Link to comment

Tina Karina 58 Posted July 3, 2013 Pierre,Thank you for your visiting my site. Your critique always is very important for me. I would love to see your images of the super moon and I believe it will be a much better than mine. Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to take a picture when the moon was rising. I could see and take a pictures only when the moon was very high in the sky. Best, Tina Link to comment

Tina Karina 58 Posted July 3, 2013 James,Thank ou very much for your comment. When I took this picture it was pretty dark 9:35 pm and I did not take with me tripod. I used a 70-300 mm lens, ISO - 1000 and TV - 1/800. I will be happy if this will help you.Best, Tina Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted July 3, 2013 Tina,The results you obtained are actually very good considering you did not use a tripod and remote release of some sort.Had you done so, I am certain you would have been even more pleased with the results. You possibly could have shot at a lower ISO, and a slower shutter speed which you might have found could provide better details. Here's mine from just after the Super Moon of 05.08.2012 which I was very pleased with after many, many Moon shots over the years. What drew me to your shot was the similiarity between yours and mine. It is a 30% crop and was shot with Canon 50D, EF 100-400 coupled to the 1.4X Teleconverter resulting in 560mm field of view.ISO 160, f/10.0@1/125th sec. with Pattern Metering and -1.67step Exposure Compensation. As I'm an early riser, . . . it was shot at 4:08 am about an hour and half before daylight. As I indicated earlier, . . . "Everyone needs their own Moon." I do hope that there is some information here that you can benefit from, and understand that I am sincere in that your results were good considering the circumstances in which your image was produced. Cheers,Jim j. Link to comment
