Good to hear from you again.  Thanks for taking the time.  The colours and textures presented here were too good to pass up despite the heavy rain.  Best, LM.

Me too. :-)  Thanks for your visit & comment.  Both are appreciated.  Best, LM.

The lighting and colors are wonderful.  I kind of wish there were a person or something more of a subject as I find my eyes wandering the lovely expanse.

Beautiful shot.

There WAS a person there but he left.  (note the tire tracks through the field on the right).  :-) The whole Creemore area has many 'lovely expanses' like this and I fully intend to go back to work them over A.S.A.P.  Michael Reichmann lives in the area and frequently inserts similar scenes into his site, Luminous Landscape.  He's worth a look if you haven't heard of him.  Thanks for your visit & thoughtful comment.  Best, LM.

Hi Len

Very nice perspective, You have been able to terminate the view in a very pleasure manner with this three background layers of trees. Best regards

Always a pleasure to receive a visit from you.  Layers gives this scene depth and I'm pleased to have spotted it while driving past. I waited, hoping the rain would pass but it didn't.  Thus the light vertical banding.  Got tired of waiting & simply held my hat over the camera to keep it dry.  Best, LM.

I love the detailed texture in the lower half of the frame!  I wonder what this would look like in b & w?  Just a thought.

BTW, I edited the yellow flowers with the screening background per your suggestion.  Please have a look.

I just renewed my PN subscription and feedback such as yours makes it worthwhile!  :O)

Thank you

~Kathy~

I just had a GREAT idea.  Next year, instead of sending PN $25 for renewal, send it to me instead.  :-)  There are an infinite number of variations when converting this one to B&W.  A few minutes in PS resulted in this one. (Channel Mixer, R-25, G-35, B-40) Tri-X emulation plus 10% increase in contrast.  Thanks for your interest.  Best, LM.

Well, there was the rhythm of the rain on my Tilly hat.  Oh, you mean in the photo!  :-)  Yes, and many thanks for your visit & comment.  Best, LM.

I like the natural colours, the wonderful expanse of wet grasses, and the gradually diminishing visibility you have managed to capture.  It gives me cause to recall all the smells of damp earth and vegetation that comes with such an occassion.

Just as a matter of curiosity......what precautions do you take about getting your camera wet? Umbrella balanced precariously whilst you try to focus?

Or maybe just a swift out of the bag snap! and then put away again?

Nice work Len!

Best Regards

Alf

Thanks for the visit & comment.  Yes, there are few aromas as pleasant as a ripe grain field or even wet hay after a rain.  *music*  ♪♫....."When the wind comes right behind the rain"......♪♫   (from 'Oklahoma')  I have this Tilly hat which is more than large enough to cover the small P&S camera even if I happen to be wearing it.  Tripod mounted, auto focusing, Canon A540 set for 2 second delay during which my hands are off the camera.  But you are right, one or two quick exposures & back to the car.  "Singing in the Rain" comes to mind as well.  :-)  Best, LM.

Wonderful mood. Thanks for sharing!

I was in a better mood before the rain.  :-)  There's an old saying, "  If you want great storm photos you have to be out in the storm".  I went out in the rain & got a very satisfying photo of a rainy landscape.  Good to have your opinion.  Always appreciated.  Best, LM.

I do like the b & w version but prefer the color version.  Thanks for posting the b & w!  Nice try to get me to give you a free 1 year membership to PN.  LOL

Thanks for the follow up.  I too prefer the colour version.  Just the way I first saw it.  Maybe my $ transfer idea wasn't such a good one after all.  :-)  Best, LM.

Congratulations!  You are the 5000th commenter on my portfolio.  Was going to give away my 2006 Civic for a prize on the occasion but I recently dealt it on a new one.  Instead I'll give you the cruise I won this week.  Actually I've won one every week for the last few weeks.  At least that's what the callers said when I picked up the phone on caller ID 8xx-xxx-xxxx.  Still waiting.  :-)  Hope you don't mind a little fun at your expense.  I do thank you for commenting.  It's a scene I couldn't pass by, even in the rain.  Don't be a stranger.  Best, LM.

Lovely light and a great sense of mood - I can almost hear the rain and smell the earth.

The very elements that moved me to take this one, only in my case I actually could smell & hear.  I gave up waiting for the rain to stop so bit the bullet, got out of the car, and took a couple of frames anyway.  Nice to get a reward when one has to go the extra mile.  :-)  Always a treat to hear from you.  Best, LM.

May I ask what are those scratches at the upper have of the image ,apparent on both the color version and the black one sent by one of the commentators ?
