aepelbacher 0 Posted August 30, 2003 I love the geometry in this shot!! The colors in the pylons are great, and the bird adds the perfect finishing touch!! :-) Link to comment
jonathan_odonnell1 0 Posted September 2, 2003 I love the way that this image plays with the sense of perspective. Link to comment
mike_hodson 0 Posted September 8, 2003 I like this photo. It makes you wonder what you are looking at. The pigeon really make the shot because it give direction and size. The white really offsets from the dull background and the blue makes a nice medium between the two. For improvement's sake I could say that the pigeon looks a bit dark and featureless and the background so uniform that it's almost odd. Is it sky or is it water? Link to comment
hmg 0 Posted September 8, 2003 I agree the pigeon makes the picture, more detail in the pigeon would have been nice. I also like the geometry of the shot and the contrast between the colors. The solid background also works well. Link to comment
gary evans 0 Posted September 9, 2003 Very nice picture. Nice capture. I agree with everyone about detail in the pigeon, but it's pretty obvious that with such a small, dark subject, with those bright white posts, you're not going to get the detail in both the white posts and the pigeon. My only suggestions for improvement involve cropping. I would crop the left side to be an equal distance from the post to the edge of the frame. Also, I think I would like the composition much more if the area beolw the edge of the cross beam were cropped, I find it distracting... Link to comment
borniet 0 Posted September 9, 2003 I agree with Gary on this one, a slightly different crop would improve this image, although it is already a very strong one. The comment about the pigeon's details is right too, but indeed, it would be very hard to achieve that. What I would like to add is that I would also like to see this picture taken with a nice sun. Not sure if it would be better or not, but I would give it a try. Link to comment
alaghi 0 Posted September 9, 2003 I like, and I see some "tips" in geometry. 7 pillars, a triangle with the middle pillar in baricenter and the pigeon in the basis. White, blue and... where is the red, the intelligence color?Total of 18 elements, 7 pillars (white), 7 details (blue), 3 basis (dark) and a pigeon at top.See my bell pic in my "Morretes" folderCongrats! toddr 0 Posted September 10, 2003 I'd suggest cropping to increase the interest in the posts and bird. Link to comment
omeryair 0 Posted September 13, 2003 It's wierd that no one mentioned that the image should be rotated very little so the lumber on the bottom would be parallel to the bottom edge. As most here mentioned, the pigeon makes the image here much more interesting and therefore I think it should have set the exposure and not the white colored wood. Link to comment
