An impressive, highly "communicating" photograph (note I don't use the term image). It is a very fine example of "freezing time", along the classic lines of old-school photography. Hi Paolo,

What I see here is a painting of the imaginary representation of age. In this shot, the frontiers between this world and the other are not at all clear (the cloudy mood and the men, more like figures than men)..but who cares? Even heaven looks like hell when you're alone. Four old friends sitting is an image of immortality, symbolizing our middle finger towards death and our disrespect towards time.
