toja.com 0 Posted August 12, 2003 to those that intentionaly gave me very low scores: Are you happy? I am not going to leave you comments in your portfolios anyway, because your photos are not worth it... Link to comment
david_masterson 0 Posted August 12, 2003 I am a big fan of negative space and you have executed it wonderfully. Cheers! Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted August 12, 2003 Can't agree with myself on the choice of composition. Placing her in the left side would have been more like the rules... But rules are made to be broken aren't they? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 12, 2003 Its gorgeous Chris. The use of space in the composition works very well. The contrast and tone are about as silky and nice as any I've seen from you. Its moody and very sensual. It makes me want to peer into her heart to find out what makes her tick. You've conveyed a quiet passion in her as you've caught her in a mood where she seems to be deeply enjoying that last puff. Its a dynamite image, one of your best in my opinion. Don't let that rating get to you. If you do you'll turn into me and that's not a good thing. Ratings like that in the face of this image are motivated by two things and two things alone: lack of vision and (more important) lack of spirit. Link to comment
toja.com 0 Posted August 12, 2003 Thanks. It just sometimes buggles my mind... why would people do it? Do they want attention? Are they jealous? Maybe a bit of both... Link to comment
bigtime 0 Posted August 13, 2003 I love this and the other Mrs. Olsen shot. The composition is perfect IMHO.I'm getting inspired here. Camera? Check! Lights? Ready! I think I have an old pack of cigarettes around here somewhere. Ah, there they are. Maybe a Cuban instead? Model? Hmm... Honey, come down to the studio and bring that leather thingy of yours.............;-) Good stuff, this is why I come to photo.net. Link to comment
jeffreyo 0 Posted August 13, 2003 Alberto ... In your speaking of the rule of 3rds and your comment .. to me its not what this subject is looking ahead too .. Its what she has turned her back on that is the focus and why she is to the left and facing away .. Link to comment
luke_powell 0 Posted August 13, 2003 wow...Chris, this is an incredible image...the only reason for a low rating would be pure jealousy and is therefore not worth your time. Great work! Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted August 20, 2003 I do like this shot, the tones, the woman´s expression and... yes the composition! My friend Alberto, says he would like to see the woman on the left, don´t do it! It is perfect like this, it seems as if she is facing something new, leaving behind other old feelings....as you should do if you get upset for the rating system ; ) Link to comment
barmijo 0 Posted September 3, 2003 A work of art! The negative space, the lighting and the choice of outfit are perfect. Link to comment
michael_menard2 0 Posted September 8, 2003 i cant say enough aobut your whole body of work. the lighting and creative vision you show in this portfolio is great. it really makes me exceited to be a photogrpaher and see others who obviously have a passion for thier craft. all the best. to all the people who degrade other photographs, go back to your small narrow minded lives. magnus2 0 Posted December 1, 2003 could you possible tell us the technical details of how this photo is taken? how did you get it so perfect in terms of lighting? Your last name sounds polish so if you are: bardzo ladne zdjecie! -Magnus Link to comment
vcallaway 0 Posted April 29, 2004 I really like this photo. At first glance your eyes are drawn across the photo and then up to her face. This photo would not have worked without the dead space on the left. Link to comment
