James G. Dainis 302 Posted June 8, 2013 Very good composition and fantastic background. The very sharply focused bird really stands out. Link to comment
dorsaj 0 Posted June 8, 2013 The photography is composed well. The background colour is very interesting and highlights the beauty of the bird. In addition to the subject, what's the bird? Thank you for sharing it. Link to comment
snigam 0 Posted June 8, 2013 Thank you James. Glad you like it. Dariusz, the bird is just called Red-winged blackbird. Here is the intro from online Cornell lab encyclopedia: "One of the most abundant birds across North America, and one of the most boldly colored, the Red-winged Blackbird is a familiar sight atop cattails, along soggy roadsides, and on telephone wires. Glossy-black males have scarlet-and-yellow shoulder patches they can puff up or hide depending on how confident they feel. Females are a subdued, streaky brown, almost like a large, dark sparrow. In the North, their early arrival and tumbling song are happy indications of the return of spring." Link to comment
