I like the look you went for in this photo. Ya know, the dress would be really cool if it was red. Just a thought.

I like everything about the composition except the SUV in the background. It seems to compete with the theme. Otherwise very well done.

Mike, I know about half of the audience will like the SUV there and the other half won't. I tried to create a story with this image. The title is: "Obduction". I guess the story is not clear for everyone... :(

I like the angle and the composition. The work in Photoshop is well done to set the mood. The subject (Obduction) is not easy to catch.

I found Obduction in one of the larger dictionaries around here, which tells me it's not a very common word. My office edition has 70,000 entries, and obduction isn't one of them. I had to use the big one over by the coffee machine, which has "several hundred thousand" entries (apparently they lost count around 200,000).

Anyway, having deciphered the title, I'm still working on making the connection between the SUV and the rest of the image, even to the point of wondering whether you mean "abduction", but I'll not make that assertion just this yet. A little more thought would be prudent.

The image is first of all, noticeably blue, noticeably tilted, and with two distinct and important subjects: A white shoed woman and an SUV. More pondering to follow.

The first, and maybe only technical question has to do with the lighter corner of sky at the edge of the building. While I suspect it's the sun, it has the look of being a bad burn/dodge artifact and as such should be given very careful consideration with regard to leaving it as it is. Photographers will likely see it as an artifact, lay people as the sun. I'll pretend it's the sun as I try to fathom the meaning of it.

Until then, I think the tilt is what I'll have more trouble with, but I can already lay claim to a certain fascination with the girl, her attire, and her pose: they are most intriguing, as is her very presence in such a manner at such a location. I'm reminded of Rene Asmussen's images, but here I see there is more than the mere depiction of beauty, and something deeper than the odd juxtaposition of beauty with decrepit environment. His work is replete with these elements, but I've not seen it to any sensible purpose other than to emphasize one by contrast with its opposite other. This image is not like that. It encompasses that idea and goes beyond it. I don't know if that's because of the SUV, or in spite of it, but that's how I feel off hand.

An engaging image. It definitely has a "commercial" feel to it. By that I mean it looks like it could be an illustration of an article or an advertisement for a product. Very creative nonetheless. I enjoy all your images.

Chris - this is wonderful. The angle really works for me and the composition is great. Very fitting title and nice toning. Creative and interesting view of the typical portrait.

The blue tint enhances the mood; the tilt lets you know her world is a bit askew. The SUV itself isn't what I find distracting, it's the headlights. But I like her shoes. She could use her own feet to run away from her captor... even if they're not very sensible shoes for running away ;) It tells a story, what that story is is up to the viewer. Neat thematic piece.

Maybe if the SUV was a 53 Chevy, etc. would feel better. Would change the time, fit the dress, mood, and mor beliveable as a story line. Nice angle/feel to the shot. Chris Tapp

Okay, I got that the theme was abduction, and I like the car in the background, certainly adds to it.

My problem was with her pose, she's not ruffled enough... :)

Anyway over all your work is EXQUISITE!
