I'm not familiar with this Iris , I've never known one to bloom twice in the year . Our's are Bearded Iris's and are only just coming into bud . You were very brave to use full aperture , the depth of field this close is very shallow . I like the soft colours and overall effect . Bill

thanks! We had a long line of thunderstorms rolling by this evening, but hopefully they are past us. I hope you didn't see any down your way. Take care Tina and thank you for your visit! Have a great weekend!!!

Yes, that Iris Kathy B posted is beautiful. She sent me the capture and I urged her to post it. Lovely Iris. I am glad you saw her image Florin. Sincere thanks for your visit and enthusiastic comments!! (the image that I included of the 'full flower' is not the original. the original shot pretty well filled the frame, but I wanted everyone to see what this lovely Iris looks like)

I hope you are enjoying Spring/Summer. I am sure it must be quite beautiful where you are!

Hi Gail,

This is such a beautiful image! The colors and shapes are just wonderful. I know there were many choices of what to feature in a macro scene from such a remarkable specimen and I think you made a great choice. Nice!

I am sorry, I do not understand. I imagined you living in Spain by many of your images, but with the image of your son winning the marathon in Bucharest, it must be Romania, but the temperatures look similar to here. Very sorry if I had the Season very wrong, what season is it there???

Kind regards, Gail

Mike Palermiti has taught me about using full aperture with my Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro USM. I have used f2.8 for most of my macro work. This may be a new Iris this last few years, I'm going to enquire at the Nursery where I purchased it and will let you know.

Many thanks for your visit and fine comment Bill.

I don't understand why you are sorry.

If you do, you don't have to, but if you insist to, you are wrong. :)

I admire your attention to detail: yes, one of my Gods !

Love the sweet colors of the flower and also the combination with bright purple background!! Hand holding is my favorite since I rarely taken flower macro photos indoor and hate to take time with tripod setting.
