I was fortunate to spend six days aboard Decatur recently.

Are the existing CIWS installations going to be replaced with SeaRAM at some point?

They just upgraded the CIWS aboard Decatur to the 5000 rpm. However, the package varies flight to flight. 

I gather the newer Fllight II sihps armed with ESSM don't have CIWS.  I guess it's a cost savings measure but it would be nice to have that extra bit of close in defence capability  Some of the German frigates (F-124) have SM-2, ESSM and RAM.

This is a wonderfully dramatic and dynamic image.  Would love to see some more of your shipboard shots.  Most images of naval vessels are rather static.

I have roughly 23,000 images from the last cruise. That is probably too many to post.
