Thank you for those very encouraging words of critique. You are right about flowers. Some days I often think it is 'pure luck'!!! My sincere appreciation for your support and time taken to visit.

many thanks for your visits, individual thoughts, always appreciated.

Jamie - I find taking images at the Nurseries very enjoyable. I see so many more plants. There is not Beautiful Gardens for me to see unless I travel a long distance, near Toronto, Ottawa etc. Many of the smaller gardens and our Ecology centre have blooms but seasonal as they mature. I would love to have a Botanical Garden near us!!!

This is a beauty, Gail, and almost has the feeling of a fine oil painting. The reality of the flower seems abstracted in some way as is often the case in paintings. What really makes this work is the precise focus on the stamen which provides a wonderful sense of depth.

Thank you Jack. I enjoyed your interpretation of this image. I never thought of it as an Oil Painting, but I see now how you arrived at that thought. Always enjoy your visits,

Sincere regards, Gail

Actually the Nurseries I go to are NOT inside. Some flowers are in Plastic Covered Greenhouses, but often they do not let you go in that part as they are the ones they are propagating to put outside next.

Unless it is a very hot and humid day with no breeze, which often happens in the summer, many days it is a challenge to get a capture as the breezes are usually blowing. There is one Nursery that I love in a small town about an hours drive away. They have a store, covered of course, but once you are outside, there is a plastic roof overhead that helps a bit with the direct sun, but otherwise, the wind blows right through the place. This is fortunate for the 'workers' when it is very hot.

There is a Gradens in Toronto that I do want to visit one day. I think they have a Glass covered Greenhouse like in the Botanical Gardens you see in many cities, but they have extensive grounds that are just beautiful. I was there once for photos being taken for a Wedding I was in. That was nearly 30 years ago.

I wanted to take photos today but it has gotten cold again, we have gone from strong winds, freezing rain, rain, snow, rain, hail, sunshine, and everything repeated over again from about 2am until now. The power went out at one point. Temps in the high 80's last week and down to 9c today. Thanks for coming back to comment, Gail

Lovely image. Super sharp stamen and soft petals work extremely well. Great background too. Well done Gail.
