It is a fantastic capture. I love the paws. There might (repeat might) be a little too much of the surroundings in the frame. Perhaps portrait with just the Prince and tree would have been the way to go. Perhaps not. I do love this shot.

Beautiful image - especially the colors.  I also would suggest a recropping of the image.  As it is the animal is too central.  Central is the most compositionally static place you can put an important element.  Hold some sheets of paper up to your screen and cut off some of the right and a little of the top - look how more dynamic it seems.  One old formula for cropping is called "the rule of thirds."  Placing his head in one of the thirds positions will really energize the little creature.
