max_shron 0 Posted August 7, 2003 This was taken as a throw away after a carefully constructed shot of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge; however, most people who have seen the shot tell me that it is great. I need some feedback from people who have a more critical eye than my immediate family and friends. Thanks! Link to comment
absolute beginner 0 Posted August 7, 2003 The pic looks really great! how about a B/W version? Link to comment
john_kroy 0 Posted August 7, 2003 It is great, and I don't think I am related to you :-) Sometimes photos aren't easy to see why people like or dislike them - that is why I have joined photo.net! With this one, I like the contrast between the man made beauty (of the bridge) and the nature made beauty. Then the realisation that the one fits in the vast expanse of the other - and which ever way you cut it, there is no choice about that! Photos that inspire thought are always winners. Thanks for not throwing this one out! Link to comment
joe_mcinerney 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Wonderful! A view I have not seen before. I like to think it provokes thoughts of the afterlife. The bridge to nowhere in conjunction with the small boat is the circle of life. Link to comment
james_davison 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Nice...I've got one very similar as a black and white in my portfolio. I'd personally try and correct the distortion/tilt but other than that, very nice. Link to comment
peterneibert 0 Posted August 9, 2003 The (north) tower is tilted slghtly to the left. Because the tower is near the right vertical margin, the tilt is obvious to the eye, but easy to fix. One other thing: the exposure location says "Oakland," which would require an unusual lens to pull this one in. No matter: it's still a great picture. Link to comment
ciofalo 0 Posted October 5, 2003 This is a much photographed subject, but this particular view is not very common (at least for a foreigner) and the mists in the Bay really add to the impact. I agree on the opportunity of straightening the leaning tower (maybe this is not Oakland, but surely it is not Pisa either), but this must be carefully done using the perspective control tool, not by rotating the image, or you will end up with a straight tower and a crooked horizon.
