to call this fine arts, but nature didn't fit, nor did architecture

Red fliter or infra-red film?

Used Kodak's HIE infrared along with a deep red filter. :)

This fits more appropriately into the "Fine Art" catagory than all the "glamour" and commercial advertising type stuff that files the databank. I don't think your format does the scene justice. It's too bad they discontinued 4x5 HIE, it would be perfect for this subject. You're composition is good, keeping the subject clouds and trees within the frame and balancing the architecture of the building on the page. Later in the day might have been better light, but...

I'll bet a color neg of this view would be as interesting as this IR version, and offer more detail in the textures and shadows without all the grain. Since the angle of view seems to be north, I'll bet the sky would have rendered pretty dark blue, as well.

I'd save the IR for a more quirky subject, and go with a finer grain film for such a detail rich and emotionally subtle scene as this.
