very good tones and overall balanced composition; beyond that, the expression on the woman's face and the conditions of her environs make a poignant drama of what she might be looking at over that rail to cause her expression. a drama, a document. dp

Donna, I really liked this village called Uribia, in the extreme northern desert peninsula of Colombia. It is considered an indigenous town. The guide hired to get us to the northern most tip of South America by 4x4 and boat stopped only briefly to get black market gas from Venezuela and grab some water. We seemed to be in just as much of a hurry on the way back a few days later. There were 5 other tourists in the 4x4, but I seemed to be the only one interested in hanging around Uribia. She passed slowly by in the back of a beat up old truck and was looking down at the people below. She probably only came to town occasionally for trades or to sell a bit of something and buy a bit of something. I actually thought about returning to Uribia on my own, but it was an arduous journey and there were so many more arduous journeys to come before returning to the States.
