jeffreyo 0 Posted August 3, 2003 It seams the fisherman posed and stood quite still or is it a composite? Either way the blur on the water makes it seam as if the on rush of waves is about to crush the fisherman. Nice affect and well done .. I like it. Link to comment
thomas_moraitis 0 Posted August 3, 2003 I seems strange to me, though, that the fisherman stayed still for 3 seconds (only moving his right arm slightly). His footsteps on the sand show that he had already walked out of the frame once before the photo was taken, so I agree with Jeffrey's question. Link to comment
gordon_szeto 0 Posted August 3, 2003 Thank you for your comments. I was surprised at how sharp the image of the fisherman came out as well. This is not a posed shot nor do I know the subject. In most of my other shots, he came out a bit blurrier. Link to comment
robert goldstein 0 Posted August 4, 2003 Excellent. This image has a mesmerizing quality. The blurred waves are terrific. Link to comment
navarra 0 Posted August 5, 2003 The wawes are really out of the ordinary. I'd clean the fooststeps and try a black and white transposition to enhance the mood of an already fantastic image. Simone Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Excellent: composition and the blurred waves. You've been lucky, yet prepared! Link to comment
aaron emanuel litvinoff 0 Posted August 5, 2003 the appearance of the sea is dramatic, although within the context of the picture and in relation to the fisherman it does not contribute much. I would use to good effect your technique of capturing this appearance of the sea in an image with more thoughtful composition and more apparent subject matter. Link to comment
gordon_szeto 0 Posted August 6, 2003 Aaron, thank you for your constructive criticism. When I took this shot, I was trying to evoke the feeling that this lone fisherman is up against a vast and overpowering sea. That is the context that I was hoping to achieve. Link to comment

billangel 9,671 Posted October 29, 2003 The blur effect works well in conveying the sense of power or energy possessed by the ocean. Link to comment
