shak_man1 0 Posted August 2, 2003 Tom Sykes on his Yamaha R1 ... was doing probably 160MPH in this shot ... and after many attempts ... finally managed to get a picture of him in my viewfinder. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 2, 2003 I don't know if it's cause I'm drunk but this image is f'ing sick! You captured this sooo well! Good job! 6/6 T.Page Link to comment
darryn patch sydney austr 0 Posted August 2, 2003 Toby you definatly got your beer gogles on, This pic is too loose and out of focus, shutter too fast. Shoot tighter slower and get it in sharp. Link to comment
sanjeewa_wickramarachi 0 Posted August 2, 2003 Have to agree with Darryn above. Also, the fence doesn't help in bringing the rider out. And regarding Toby's 6 rating for originality, I'm lost as to where the originality in this lies. Sorry. Link to comment
thomasbh 0 Posted August 4, 2003 I like this shot. And so do a number of my friends who actually race (although not pro). To me the blur of the background makes it look as though he is really moving. Good Job. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 4, 2003 Some people rate good sports images with higher ratings. I personaly find this shot to be awesome (now that I'm sober!) I think this shot is a fine example of panning with the subject, although it could use a crop but otherwise I stand true to my ratings and my critique. Bravo! T.Page Link to comment
witolda_maruszewska 0 Posted August 13, 2003 This *COULD* have been a very good shot... But while it gives a very good feel of speed, the fact that it isn't sharp enough or sufficiently in focus really pulls it down, I'm afraid. I am a regular at Brands - this looks like the approach to Hawthorns, and if it is, you'd want to be panning around 1/180s to get a good crisp pan shot here, possibly a fraction faster with digital. Here's a link to one of my shots - taken with a D60 - to show you what can be achieved: http://www.post14.f9.co.uk/pics/2003_ascar03/ascar03_27.jpg Link to comment
