Someone I met in a bar in New York. Quality? It's a long story...

Handheld in dreadful light - about 1/4sec. I've no idea what happened to the film - it came out of the tanklooking awful, with another one that was great. Still, I processed it a few more times and it was printable. Just. Some of the grain is gone though I don't care. Do you?

I've put this in the Fine Art catagory because I'm a fine art student

and I think it's partly due to the open minded nature of studying

fine art that I like this. Does a portrait have to be well lit,

posed, processed etc. to be a good one?

I like it. If it was an accident, too bad. If it's repeatable, do a series. It could become your signature style.

Awesome shot: awesome composition, awesome pose, awesome light, if somewhat naff. Unfortunately, where I live, bars dont have tungsten bulbs embedded in the floor. The developing disaster works to perfection in this particular image, although I imagine it would have severely limited scope if it could be reproduced consistently.

I can't believe nearly 500 people have viewed this photo and only one felt motivated enough to leave a comment.

Whether you intended it or not, this photo is very, very sexy...

I like candid portraits myself. The grain doesn't matter. The lighting and color are great. If you want to reproduce this effect in other photos try Photoshop.
