Sometimes it is difficult to critique your own work...especially when

you know the model. What do you think?

No problem with cropping or the dark background. If you place some hair light to dramatize the image the results could be better. Good luck.

I've often wondered why you chose the cropping that you did for this photo. But I find no fault with it, nor anything else for that matter. My only question would be, "how does this portray the subject". Was she just standing there and you took the opportunity, or was this a planned 'sitting'? As a viewer, I don't feel that I have learned anything about the subject (not that this is required for a good picture). Many of your street shots seem to carry with them a bit of the subject's personality, and that makes them powerful images (to me anyway).

I like the photo very much. You captured and evoked intensity and focus. Again- I like it very much.
