Staying Close

Jim, looks like he is posing for you.  I have yet to see a bald eagle in the wild.  Glad you were able to get this shot.

So far here anyway, this is about as close as I've been able to get.

Both nests I was told about and have found do indeed have a pair of adults around each of them.

One nest down below the Dam on the Grand River has at least one Eagle on it at all times. I've even observed them "changing the watch" so to speak. However, the other nest that is out in the Cow pasture, . . . although I've observed both mature Eagles at the same time near the nest. I've not yet seen either of them actually on the nest.

Still fun to watch, although I doubt I'll ever get another chance to observe and photograph them fishing as I did a couple of years ago in Kansas!

This is about an 80% or higher crop of the original image due to the

distance to the Eagle. (About as close as they will let you get when

perched.)
