I Love My Dad and ... Icecream

I would appreciate any comments and/or ratings.

Perhaps setting the subject a bit off-center might draw the viewer in a bit more. Just a thought.

Very nice formal symmetrical composition with great textures. I like how the action is framed within a frame. The columns make another box. Its like hollywood squares.

 

Definitely shoot there again if you can. I would do a series to see what kind of scenarios you can catch. I would also like to see it cropped in or enlarged more to see the facial expressions - but that may be the digital limitations.

Charming capture. I like the b&w on this one, too. Well presented, but as it's been said, maybe too centered if you're following "the rules".

This one is really heartwarming! Great job, Predrag! You were at the right place at the right time! Candid shots are so hard to get right, because they happen in random places, but good ones really have the emotion. Nice!!!

I really do like this photo. But I think to truly enjoy all the elements of it, you would have to see a 8x10 or even a 11x14. There are just so many thing occuring in it. The differences of texture, sharpness, and stages of neglect of the building alone make an intersting photo. But then the father and daughter centered there make it really visually exciting, IMHO.

 

But you do loose something when you can only see a small photo. that's the problem with a forum like this, on the small phot you almost want to crop it tighter to see more of the man and child. But's it really good.

I think there are really two subjects in one photo. The character of the building and the symetrical composition is a very pleasant abstract in itself. Then you have the father and daughter, another subject that has emotional appeal. So this causes a bit of a dilemma for the viewer -- two competing subjects... but this is not necessary a bad dilemma. We can have our cake and eat it too...

This is a wonderful warm photo. I love how you captured a very nostalgic scene, evoking the child in each of us. Commendable for the textures, the relaxed mood.

 

Now buy them some more ice cream, and get in closer so we can see more of the sheer joy of father and daughter.

There is something about this image that bugs me, I like the building and the exposure. The father has a aggressive posture and the kid is retreating. The placement is OK but it bugs me.

That's my taste of photo... and Icecream :)
