the composition works for me. I think the white background is very neutral and I would prefere a stronger color the nwhite ( :-), or with snow you could increase the contrast.?!?

Vlad, I like this very much. It's not always readily apparent as to why one has a reaction to a photo. It could be a memory that gets triggered. In New England here, I've seen similar scenes...sometimes I prefer the colors that come after the intensely bright autumn foliage fades. The white is the color it is because the day is so gray and dreary. Makes me want to bundle up!
