I've posted two versions of this image, this and the following image.

One I only did a little sharpening to and this one I also adjusted the

levels for more contrast and saturation. Which do you prefer?

Overall, this one has the better tones and color saturation.  I would, however attempt to lighten this one so that the eye shows more like the other exposure. You can do that locally so that only the immediate region of the eye is affected.

Thanks for the comments guys. I wasn't sure, I thought I might of went a little too saturated on the yellow with this one. Apparently not.

Jerry, I'll see if I can post an edited version with the lightened eye.

Hi Siegfried. I like this picture (but I dislike the barb wire). The bird is beautiful. Best regards Per.

Thanks Per, I personally like the barbed wire. But that's why I posted it here, to get inputs that I wouldn't have thought of myself. Why don't you like it, because it's not natural? Or is it purely a matter of aesthetics?

Gail, Hanan,

I appreciate you taking the time to comment. The barbed wire is actually a favorite perch for a lot of birds. The barbs don't seem to bother them at all.
