Urban Cowboy

I really like this portrait, it has a light hearted feel to it. Since the subject has a thin face, the use of broad lighting here was perfect. If I may make a suggestion, the subjects face is in the dead center of the frame and there is a lot of wasted background space above him. Although no rule is cast in stone, in portraiture like this, it is better to place the eyes on the upper third of the image. That way it draws your attention more to the subject and less to the background.

The only other thing that sticks out for me is the shadow of the pistol barrel across his nose. Perhaps if you had the subject place the pistol a little further away from his face and tilt it toward the brim of the hat that might have eliminated that.

Scott is right about the cropping of the upper surplus of space! Otherwise this is a masterpiece!
