jerrymat 5 Posted February 3, 2013 A very nice image of the corolla, but I do wish you had been able to get more depth of field. Biologists rely upon seeing images of plants they will never get to study (or perhaps will have to study only as dried flattened specimens.) They really like to see more focused detail. I understand, that as a work of art this is just fine, but I am a trained biologist as well as photographer, so am always looking out for both art and science needs.Jerry Link to comment
sgust 1 Posted February 4, 2013 Rick, thanks for the comment.Jerry, I was going more for an aesthetically pleasing image than a botanical reference. I actually selectively blurred the background more than it already was to make the front part of the flower stand out more. But if your interested I can go through that days images and see if I have any images I took with a smaller aperture. I know I have one of a almost ripe seed pod for sure. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Link to comment
gregverena 354 Posted February 4, 2013 Lovely representation - you would be hard pressed to get much more dof at this angle, and , in this case, would probably not add much to the image.G Link to comment
