This is a street scene from a very special place in a very special part of

Europe, the Balkans, though rich Europe refuses to accept it as a part of

it. This broken mannequin conjures forlorn tales of war, suffering and the

neglect by the people nearby who were supposed to help stop it... and

remained idle. Please give me some feedback on this capture. I am an

amateur photographer, working by then with very limited equipment.

Thanks in advance. R.

Excellent work!

I'm not sure if you placed the doll in this position or if it was already here, but that doesn't matter.  Your image tells the story as you describe it.  Well done!

From a technical standpoint, I like the shallow depth of field and the crisp focus on the doll's face in the foreground.  And I also like the composition with the subject dominating the entire right side of the frame.

Did you intend the colorful umbrella to offset the sadness and provide a sense of hope?  It certainly does to me.

My only suggestion is to move your copyright text to the left corner and make it a bit smaller so that it doesn't detract from the image.

Overall, a very provocative image.

Rui, I can tell you that you have reached the goal you mentioned in your request for critique with your, as you say limited equipment! By the way, the picture is also technically perfect! The use of wide lens is contributing to what I already said!

Best regards
