eboz 0 Posted May 1, 2001 I've not done any journalism shots before, but I had this oppertunity and made the best of it. The local newspaper used a few of my pictures for the paper... I didn't like the ones they chose though. Link to comment
kevin_kolosky 2 Posted May 1, 2001 to directly answer your question, NO. without knowing anyting else about the situation, there is nothing in the photo to hold any attention. Kevin Link to comment
dick_bolton1 0 Posted May 2, 2001 To your question as to whether this picture holds my interest, the short and blunt answer is "no." Nor would it arrest my attention if it appeared in my morning newspaper. I'd like to see the shots the editors picked to run, betting they had some fire or smoke or some sort of action -- real or implied -- that said "this was a real fire emergency." In news photography -- especially "spot" news assignments -- the idea is to tell the story graphically, and the less ambiguity about what is happening, the better . . . within the bounds of "good taste," of course. This picture raises far more questions than it answers, which is why it doesn't work very well in a journalistic context. Same comments pretty much apply to your photo of the air packs, as well.
