Blue Lagoon
Cloud and fog briefly gave way to some sun during the hike from Sulzenau Hut to Dresdner Hut in Austria's Stubai Alps, revealing this beautiful glacial lake and the surrounding peaks. The scene would have looked much different under bright sun, and I rather liked the mystery the moving clouds and fog lent to the view. The Sulzenauferner glacier and Fernerstube glacier are most prominent, R to L. The high peak is Wilder Pfaff.I used my hiking pole as a monopod as I often do when shooting on the go - didn't want to miss the lighting by pulling off my pack and getting my tripod. I have found that I am able to get very sharp images with the Canon 24-105L using the IS on the lens in this fashion given decent lighting. 2 horizontal images merged to take in the whole view.
