chrisvest 1 Posted January 6, 2013 odd pic and as others have said, as nebulous as some bob dylan tunes. the wall conjures the "security wall" through the west bank: hunter on the wall and a sad resignation of the central figure. it's a reversal, in a way, of the saint hubertus story about him becoming christian when he saw a cross appear between the antlers of a stag he was about to kill (as in the jaegermeister label). i might have tried making the deer, if not black and white, then with the cyan cast removed-- just a warmer fawn color. provocative and thought-engendering pic. Pierre Dumas 309 Posted January 6, 2013 I'll try to answer multiple remarks in one! I don't like mixing color and B&W, but this time it has a purpose, gives 3D effect and isolates the deer from the background, the life and the concrete threat together with its maker the human who is presented as a killer of the life around him, which is the very truth! The clock is ticking, want we or not! PDE Link to comment

poag 0 Posted January 8, 2013 Interesting effect and great concept. The hunters killer their prey as if they were the center of the universe, but they live in an artificial world that does not understand the beauty of the nature.GreetingsRamon Link to comment
chris_panagiotidis 0 Posted January 8, 2013 You gave abundant food for thought,Petraki, with this composition that alerts the hidden pacifist within everybody. Some not very flattering thoughts crossed my mind concerning the hypocricy of people towards global issues , but I will keep them for my self and I 'll wish you and your family a happy New Year. You have evolved to a philosopher with pictorial means of expression that obliges the average viewer stay on your creations as if not looking at an image but a short story told with narrative pictures, open to a plethora of interpretations according to viewer's cultural background .Regards! GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted January 10, 2013 Somehow this image speaks to me of the hunting down of the fragile, beautiful and innocent ones in our URBAN FORESTS (cities). A great example of your keen imagination, skill at Photoshop and of course your empathy for those who cannot protect themselves in a world where the unimaginable is becoming not 'outside the norm'. Excellent statement you make Pierre. The contrast between the 'gentile' nature of the deer and the 'cold' background speaks volumes. Kind regards, Gail Link to comment

michaellinder 16,613 Posted January 18, 2013 I see this image as a commentary on alienation - the deer's not belonging in an urban environment and our society's reliance on violent measures to rid itself of elements that are incongruous. The color - B&W contrast is exceptionally powerful. My best, michael Link to comment
