Not the white flakes - I think they're just spider leftovers.  There are some tiny yellow bugs and a worm and a little black fly - possibly others but I'm not sure.

Lovely Macro of this Scottish Thistle Margo!!! The spider is excellent and CREEPY, but I wish I'd captured it!!! the rest of the 'buggys' are certainly having a feast! I think the white flakes are Pollen but I could be wrong!! WEll done!

Thanks, Gail.  I've been having fun with a set of extension tubes - had them for years but usually found them frustrating to use.  I was delighted, therefore, when this pic seemed to work!    Re the pollen, yes, most of the white stuff is pollen, especially on the lilac petals, but there's also some curly stuff which may be something else, possibly skin or shell from the spider's last dinner.

i see them now, but i'm still not sure about the worm.  is it on the far right?

 

i think it's easier to move the camera than to focus when you're at such high magnification.  best, jamie
