not bad, but take a walk to the end of the pier and get an awesome shot, eliminating the trucks and other schmeg.

This is a beautiful sunset, and you've caught the light well. THe parking lot is very distracting and detracts from the beauty of the sun. If you're in this situtation again, I'd suggest trying for a more compelling foreground. This photo could be quite nice if you were to straighten the horizon (rotate and crop), and then crop out all but the left edge of the parking lot, leaving only a triangle in the lower right corner of the frame. Excellent exposure and timing overall, though.

The horizon looks pretty level to me. But you have to look carefully to see that the clouds and the wide angle distortion conspire to make it look out of kilter.

 

I agree that the stuff on the right is a distraction, but I suspect that making them more prominent may do as much good as getting rid of them. What's the point in having a wide angle lens if you're always throwing away all the great stuff it captures?
