GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted December 11, 2012 I find this image so visually beautiful. From the texture on the walls, the 'grainy feel' of the image, the young girl and her dress that appears to be a 'Period' costume. I really like where you chose to place her in the composition. She is lovely, as is your finished composition.Kind regards, Gail Link to comment
Margo_Wade11664880111 0 Posted December 11, 2012 The way the flowers, textures and tones fit together is exquisite. A true work of art. Link to comment
JohnWebster 3 Posted December 12, 2012 I rate this a 5 but it might score higher if the picture over the fireplace was not running into the edge of the frame. Either include all of it or remove it completely. This is okay, as is, but moving the girl slightly to the right and the flowers slightly to the left so as to not have the flowers connected to her head would be an improvement in my opinion. stp 6 Posted December 14, 2012 I like all of the elements -- the very ornate dress, chest, and flowers contrast in a good way with the slat floor and concrete wall. I only wish the girl's head had been separated from the flowers. I think you wanted everything in line (a nontraditional approach which is in keeping with the contrasting elements), but this is where I think you should have deviated somehow. I know what John is saying about the picture, but again I think you're going for something other than the traditional photograph, and in that off-beat sense and in this context, I think it works great. It's really the style of the dress versus the floor and wall that is driving my interpretation and opinion. Link to comment
flavio_egoavil 10 Posted December 17, 2012 I think i rated this one a 6 or 7. Usually, a portrait with the subject at the exact center is boring or trite. In this case it works perfectly. I like this image very much. Link to comment
