This was snapped very late in the afternoon when the light was failing. I liked the composition but had to really push the saturation in photoshop. I like the effect.

The light was fading. I was very taken with the composition. I

snatched the shot and had to do some photoshop work to get this

effect. I quite like the overall impact, what do you think?

nice shot! I love your positioning of the bicycle. the crop up top is a little tight...adds some (undesirable??) tension to the picture. I surmise from your intro that a shadow was falling accross the landscape. This always complicates things, doesn't it? Anyhow, I'd be curious to see a copy without such a tight crop.

Fun shot.

the last comment was right, the bike sits too close to the top of the photo. It leaves the viewer feeling confined as if they were in a very short room. Since there is a lot of empty space down below and since this photo was likely cropped perhaps you could recrop it placing the bike lower in the shot...perhaps 1/3 from the bottom instead of the top. (thats assuming there is nothing undesirable in the top third.) At any rate, moving the bike lower even a little should help. Just a thought.

I have loaded both the original and the a more classic "thirds" crop. (Click here to see them) In the crop I didn't concentrate on the levels or saturation, I just wanted to show the shot with a more classical crop. I still think I prefer the tension created by the original crop. What do you think.

This is a real good photo. It's great to look at. The colors created interest in the picture. The composition is marvelous. An effective use of the "panoramic" format...creates drama
