Thanks for taking the time to view, comment/critique, rate and, allowing

me the opportunity to share. This is about an 80% crop. Would

appreciate processing advice. It looked o.k. to me before I

downloaded, but now, I'm not so certain.

Thanks again,

Jim j.

Nice shot Jim! I know what you are saying about cropping. It goes with the territory when you shoot birds. Good job with the exposure on this one.

Yes, crop, & crop some more seems to go hand in hand with Bird & Wildlife shooting!

Thanks so much for your visit!

Cheers,

For an 80% crop, I think it's rather remarkable!  I wish his face was turned just a bit more toward the viewer, but hey.....he probably doesn't speak English for you to ask him to do that!  ;-)

Many thanks for your visits and comments!

My math is not always so good, so to clarify a bit, here is the original image only sized to display here.

Looking back now, I probably should have used the "Angry Bird" shot where it was looking directly at me for the cropped close up type portrait and this one for the full body view. Oh well, hind sight's 20/20! Maybe a rework is in order?

I felt quite fortunate when this Eagle landed close to my hide to check me out and offer the opportunity to get off several shots! In the wild, they are very shy and like to keep their distance for certain. But, frequenting this area often since 2010, maybe they are getting more familiar with me too! I know that they are somewhat used to people because many times they can be seen in the small residential village at the east end of the lake.

I expect some of the residents probably feed them, and I don't think that my presence is stressing to them.

Again, many thanks for your comments,

Jim j.

Many thanks for your visit and comment!

They are really fun to observe. I do hope I get a chance to view them when they are fishing! Lots of great action, and a real joy to watch them scoop up fish from the lake!

Thanks again,

Jim j.

Thanks for your visits!

Off again tomorrow where these wonderful creatures hang out!

Hoping for some fishing action now that the weather has really cooled off!

Again, thanks so much!

Jim I'm wondering why you had to crop so much because looking at the full image I thought that was great. possibly if you got the full image of the eagle may be with  a little bit of the branches........

Hi, and thanks for your visit!

To answer your question a bit.

I really did not have to crop this much as you indicated. But I wanted a portrait type close-up view and the original image could stand it.

There is another image that is a full view of the Eagle where it was looking directly at me and looked a little angry. So, I called that on "Angry Bird" which you can also find in my gallery.

As an after thought, . . . I now think that I should have cropped the Angry Bird for the close up portrait but I made my decision probably due to overall sharpness of the original images.

Thanks again Gamini for your continued support!

Regards always,

Jim j.
