lens scanner problem..could not avoid noice around images..tried to hide it with some dodging and burning to make it presentable.

Saw your delemna with your scanner. Since I clean up a lot of photos submitted to our newspaper by the commmunity, often trashed by local labs, I kind of have a nack, I guess. IS this the kind of tonal quality your were looking to achieve?
