DGorinstein 20 Posted January 1, 2013 I have been debating with myself for several days about posting a comment that really bothered me. There was a comment by a PN member saying "back again with the dreadful comments". I believe it is unfair to post such personal criticism, so aggressive. As a matter of fact, if one is rally "objective, open, and truly critical", one might also be prepared to "understand" where a title may be coming from. I am not defending the title of this image per se, all I'm saying is that one should give some credit to the author. If the author titled it "fairytale", it may have something about it for "him". If so, it cannot be trite. Something in the image inspired him to say it hinted something of magic or something of the sort. What is this member of PN critiquing? A title? I thought there should be something more to an image than a title. The comment, in my opinion, denotes pretentiousness... pedantic, arrogant, and utterly pointless and useless. It contributes nothing to the purpose of photography. I would have made a comment on the technical aspects of this great image, but if someone is so "hung up" on criticizing a title?! C'mon.... it totally de-motivated me. I am glad that the rest of the comments did not focus on such an absurdity and rather focused on what is truly important in a wonderful site as this one.
