Wayne Sadler 738 Posted November 24, 2012 This is an homage of sort to my favorite poet, e. e. cummings and my favorite watercolor artist, Frank Webb. Walking through the park a week or so ago looking at the last colors of fall, I found myself squinting, as I usual do, to see and arrange the scenery into usable compositions. Painters often indulge in this conscious and unconscious squinting exercise to allow shapes and forms to blend and come together as they share similar hue, tonal value and borders. Seeing this way eliminates details that “busy” the composition and distract attention from the feel of the harmony of the scene as a whole. This image which is part of a series I call “Lost and Found” was processed to simplify elements, remove details, eliminate lines and other borders and allow shapes and forms to flow into each other. Comments and critique are always welcome. Link to comment
