Mighty Hohe Tauern

harrylichtman

A grand view from Austria's largest Natioanl Park. I think panoramas often suffer from the use of a wide angle lens, rendering near objects larger and far object smaller. Sometime this can work, but often the image loses the impact that drew us to taking the image in the first place. I find that zooming in a bit and taking a series of vertical images, later to be stitched, brings the impact back to a panoramic view. Distortion can be a problem so the images has to be taken with care. 10 images at f16.

Hohe Tauern National Park is Austria's largest natural area and

home to it's highest peak, Grossglockner. This view is from the

northern end of the park, taken using 10 vertircal images that have

been stitched

Great looking photo. Lots of detail, especially in the clouds.  This isn't so much a critique as perhaps more a suggestion...you might try a subtle vignetting in the corners to better direct  the viewers attention to the center of the photo.  It really is a stunning shot though :) Well done!
