sgust 1 Posted November 7, 2012 I did a re-edit on an image I posted a while back. Did some digital manipulations in order to improve it. What do you think. The original is the following image. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted November 7, 2012 Siegfried, I think your manipulation certainly enhanced the hairy texture of the legs & body. However it also emphasized the texture of the surface underneath and that visually competes with the spider. It is possible to make two layers of such an image in software with the original on the bottom and enhanced copy above. Then using a brush tool one could do a selective erasing of the surface so that the enhanced spider would appear to be on the original surface. It is actually quite easy to do with a paint brush tool.Jerry Link to comment
bobmclean 1 Posted November 8, 2012 I think the manipulation worked well Siegfried. It definitely looks hairier. Regards. Bob Link to comment
sgust 1 Posted November 9, 2012 Bob thanks for your comment.Jerry I appreciate you taking the time to make your suggestions. Sometimes it takes a different set of eyes to see things that could be improved upon. And I agree with your observation that the texture of the background is a bit busy. So I did what you suggested and after playing with the layers I found that not only blurring the background but also multiplying it with the original made the spider stand out even more against the darkened background. So here is the result. Feel free to comment on it. I'll give it a few more days for people chime in and then I'll post a final edit. Link to comment
