Very nice capture, however light from behind is confusing a little bit. I don't think it could be fill-in flash, probably lights from Weigh Station?

I like this shot because the beach looks so 'ugly' in comparison to the sky.

There is not really a lot you can say that would help improve this shot. It is a good shot but as someone has commented already, the light does seem to confuse the image.

I look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Dave, if I come to Alaska, will you take me sightseeing? :-) Although Alaska is famous for it's vistas, you seem to have a knack for capturing landscapes beyond the standard postcardy stuff. The angle of this shot adds even more interest to this lovely sunset. Did you slog through some mud for this one?

Carol: Thanks for you comments. They are much appreciated. As far as the mud is concerned, I didn't slog through mud to get this shot. Turnagain Arm can be very dangerous. The mud is fine silt and you can get stuck quit easily. The tide comes in fast, it runs like a river so I stay on the rocky shore. People have lost their lives by getting stuck and having the tide come in on them.

Thanks Dave

Interesting. great sky and good detail in the forground but a bit too dark for me...still the way you composed the sunset is outstanding. It feels as though the sun is sucking the rest of the world in to it's disappearing corner.
