An old house of wood panels and four square symmetry was just

purchased by a friend and his wife who wanted me to capture its feeling

before he had fully moved everything in. Originally a color image that I

visualiized in monochrome. Your comments are appreciated. Arthur

I'm not sure what is is You want to communicate but I want to give You credit for a beautiful B&W job. I hope Your friends manages to make a home of their new house.

Svend, thank you very much.

The B&W conversion was aided by the Photoshop Elements (9) conversion tool in the Enhance box, with some minor twiddling with the color channels. There is not much to communicate in the image except the type of architecture once preferred in the late 1900s in rural Quebec, where the central symmetry is built around the staircase to the upper floor and the rooms are placed four square about it.  My friend is thinking about removing the left most wall to create a more open space to the left, but I suggested that the building has probably more "soul" with it in place. I can imagine the winter coats placed on the three hooks.

Thanks for the explanation - I thought I missed something. Still a great bw image. And making a house into a home takes a while - it might never be finished, cause need do change over time. They get children and eventually the children moves out. In short - Your image do communicate homemaking.
