eric_beers3 0 Posted May 1, 2001 Does anyone do underwater photography? I'm trying it for the first time and can use any criticism. How do you overcome loss of color at depth? As you can see, this one was taken in very shallow water and was MUCH brighter in the viewfinder. Link to comment
keith_anderson1 0 Posted May 1, 2001 This is actually underexposed about 1 stop if I remember those fish as being white. That happens with cheap underwater cameras. If you really want to tak eunderwater shots I'll tell you it is hard and expensive. The colour loss is the fact that you have left the surface and as soon as you do you start to lose the red spectrum of light and things turn blue. The only way around this is with strobes and they are big and expensive. For the type of camera you used this isn't to bad but my suggestion is a nikonos 5 or a underwater housing for a land camera.
