a surreal milky river swooshing down the slope and turning the bend
with great energy makes for a different sort of farm road

I like the feeling of motion as we swing around the turn. I think the vignetting works well here, too, leading us down the road to the distant farm house. Another nice one, Steve. I've always liked the dynamism of your pictures as if they were cut on the fly from life (which perhaps they are). They often seem soaked in the full-blooded presence of the moment.

Funny the way Carlos uses the word 'milky river', as it describes the road quite  accurately.... Your composition is very effective; I too like that 'swoosh feeling' at the turning point of the road below -- it adds dynamic and a strong mood. Something ominous in the air here too for me... Don't know what scene to expect to find at the farm...

Aha, Marjolein beat me to it. There is something unsettling in the air. Would make a great opening shot for a movie of the type Seven, with lots of rather horrid ways to die.

Or maybe my fantasy has gone loose now, but then I'd still blame the photo for it. And that's not a bad thing.

Carlos, Jack, Marjolein, Janis, & Wooter  -- Thank you.  I am not as good as some at consistently acknowledging those who give of their precious time to comment on a photo.  I do not think of myself as a depressing person (quite the opposite) but I am drawn to, and select, those images which do hint at something odd, unsettling, or perhaps even sinister.  That other people find that is as much as a photographer can hope for.
