I like this.  I think you've chosen a very challenging way to show these rock formations because of the backlighting.  Maybe this is an HDR photo -- hard to tell because I don't see any telltale signs.  It's tough to separate the rocks from the distant background -- I think they blend together too well.  The three-dimensional aspect doesn't quite come across as much as when you walk among these formations.  As I mentioned before, I've been here once, and I failed to get a photo that I really liked -- it's not easy to convey the nature of this area.  I like your other image taken later in the day with the broad cloud placed well in the scene -- I think everything just comes together in a way that more completely tells about the nature of this area.

Stephen... no HDR here. I've experimented with it but it just never looks right to me. I did use a 2 stop hard edged grad on this one. The sky was getting pretty bright so the grad gave me a little more exposure on my foreground than on the other. This is a fun area to shoot with a lot of possible compositions so I imagine I'll keep going back from time to time. Thanks for your comments.

Pierre... Thank you sir.

but just not enough going on in the photo to capture and hold my interest.  The foreground shapes are  interesting, but they lose a lot of "punch" because they are all "hidden" beneath the horizon line an there's just not enough contrast and depth.  Also, the clouds are a nice color and well captured but, again, aren't doing anything dramatic or different and don't add enough interest.  I find myself wanting to see the sun in the frame (as opposed to the hint over to the left).  I would keep coming back to the spot -- which appears to have good potential -- so that you can be rewarded with a more interesting sky and better profile on the rock formations in the foreground.  Keep at it...
