Puerta Antigua

Granada has lot of beautiful doors. But this one was old and weathered

and I found it to be far more interesting that the ones that that had

a new coat of paint or fresh varnish.

Thank you for your comments, I wasn't quite sure if others would find the composition with the empty wall filling the right half of the image any good. It's nice to know my sense for aesthetics isn't completely off.

Hello ! This one made me smile because i have one somewhat similar (http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2916428 if you want to check) and i did get comments about its emptiness, on other sites. I like your photo as it is of course, but it's also the kind of pic you can play with, trying changes in saturation and textures.

Jerome, for some reason I couldn't view the image or some of your others for that matter. Some I could, others just never loaded. I could see the thumbnail in the portfolio, just not the full or medium sized images.

I did a little playing around with the image, to get it perfectly level and the crop just right. I also played around to get the colors and the contrast how I wanted. It's become pretty standard practice for any image I find any good lately. Sometimes it's not much at all, sometimes it can be amazing how much you can improve a mediocre image. And occasionally I go back and find I overdid it.

Fantastic image, I love old doors as well, and this one is exceptional. Very nice capture!
