mauricio_jos__schwarz 0 Posted July 15, 2003 The project: create candid portraits of people (mostly editors and writers) during a multitudinous meeting, creating a false sense of intimacy, isolating them from the environment. In this case, a Spanish comic book scriptwriter. The background were the three versions Van Gogh painted of his room in Arles. There is no posing and no setup by the photographer. The subject was listening to his colleagues speaking in a round table, and there were some 200 people in the audience. I'm interested in knowing how it works for you. Link to comment
brady_dillsworth 0 Posted July 15, 2003 I like the background and his head posture, but I feel you have a little too much head room and that a slightly tighter crop would be beneficial. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted July 17, 2003 IMHO, Mauricio, this is an excellent profile full of force and the background works very well. I have, however, two, comments. One is that being the black week the B&W version is sort of enforced... and the second, that I would like to see, as well, an ambiance portrait. Would it be possible?Me encanta ver que en Gijón hay dos excelentes fotógrafos... ¿Conoces el trbajo de Luis Argüelles? Lo puedes encontrar aquí, en Photo.Net... Link to comment
mauricio_jos__schwarz 0 Posted July 20, 2003 Problem with the b/w version is that you lose Van Gogh's colors, of which I am a fan. Y have no ambience portraits since all the project, while I was working as producer in Semana Negra, was precisely to isolate people from the crowd, and I concentrated on that. Link to comment
