Outstanding mood in this picture though there is minimal action. The dog makes it. (Is it a dog ?) The graphic lines make suspense and the tones are exceptional. Seems not very, very sharp but is not photoshopped and well presented. Well done !! O4/A6

Very nice! I'd like to see less detail in the photo, maybe croping it a little

I appreciate the ratings and comments.

Unfortunately, the shapes of the two dogs playing on the left became barely recognizable after the re-sizing and jpeg compression required for the uploading. I agree with André that the presence of the dog(s) is essential but it I could not quite pull it out :-(

I also agree that the sharpness of the image is not extraordinary.Perhaps, that's all what a Canon 28-105 can give at its wide angle end (I tend to avoid any digital sharpening). For this reason I've switched more recently to an old SMC Takumar 3.5/28 for majority of my wide angle shots.

I don't feel solitude here. The buildings make it look like a very active beach at times, there are plenty of things on the beach itself in the background suggessting more activity, the two dogs playing suggest there could be somebody else walking on the beach and the speed limit sign close to the person kind of grab my intention and further prevents me from seeing the solitude of the man.

I doubt the fuzzyness is only due to the lens, even a point and shoot can do better under correct conditions.

its a very good image. but i think that placing the horizon line slightly lower would be better. i dont think theres a need for this extra space iat the buuton but i feel that slightly opnening the upper zone would deliver powerful feeling of the space. i also think that a slightly less wider lense her would be nice. this image is very powerful as the minimalistic scene in fromnt. i dont really need as for the this endless effect of the wider opening of the lense. i think that when u capture a good scene and u deliver it in such a good manner as here, theres no need for any extras. concentraiting on the main would give much more power to it. i also think that theres a need in tuning the image, dont know how since i dont see the original media. generally it was done very good but some critical work of yours can put it forward. great image.

Thanks again for stopping by and leaving detailed comments. But where is the rating? :-)) Well I assume it's 3/3. Anyway, I don't mind this kind of criticism at all. Hopefuly, one day I will happen to download an image that will be up to your taste and standards.

As for my comment about "finding the solitude...", I was hoping that the irony is rather obvious. Of course, I haven't found much solitude there. I should've also mentioned that it was the Bikers week when the photo was taken. So this leads to another version of the tittle: "Some sort of solitude can be found even on Daytona Beach in the middle of the Bikers week"...

I didn't get the irony...

I didn't rate, you shouldn't assume it would have been 3/3 ;-)

in my opinion the composition is perfect, the picture gives the feeling of loneliness and a crowded city in the background at the same time! I also like its timeless tone.
