Just goofing around. Adjusted brightness, contrast, color, and tinkered with some blurring effects in GIMP to try to reduce some awful jpeg artifacts in the expanse of blue.

Let me guess your exposure...

Actually, my hands are a little shaky, so I would have gone with 1/250 @ f/8 or 1/500 @ f/5.6 (I didn't record it). It's not exactly like I need a lot of DOF for this shot - I think I strategically prefocused at infinity. :)

The logic is right though - sunny 16 is what I started with.

The vignetting is pretty much what was there on the print I scanned. I haven't examined the negative to see if it's some strange artifact from the lab processing, but the sky did have something of a dark spot there. It's not really evident here, but there was a thin and somewhat nebulous haze with thicker and thinner patches everywhere. The lone cloud was dissipating and completely vanished within seconds after I shot this, leaving nothing but a slightly thicker haze in that corner. The lower half of the frame is a natural fade away from deep blue to paler blue as you approach the horizon, so that part is real. It was definitely hazier further to the right in the frame. The only section where I'm not sure if the lighter color is real is near the top center and top right. I don't remember it being hazier higher in the sky, but given the conditions it certainly could have been.
