....... we found this beautiful stretch of unspoilt coastline. Just us, alone with nature. Had it not been so windy, I would have tried the gullies for a fish or two.

Having photographed many, many such beaches, I still come back to this one as my favourite....... just the beautiful colours I guess.

Oh, have you spotted the Darter yet?

Beautiful place....

I feel this image might better suit a longer exposure giving the water a smooth washed effect that would compliment the very sharp image you have of the rocks and back hills. An ND filter would probably be need for that, but your highest fstop and longest exposure before highlight clipping takes place might give the desired result.

Hi Grayham,

The water looks so clear and blue.  And you have sandy beaches with wonderful rock formations.  I like the nearby hills as well.  Very nice capture of this apparently isolated stretch of coastline.  Entire image is very crisp and enticing.  Yes, I see the anhinga on the middle right side of the image.  We have anhingas in the US, but not in my area.  I guess they are very similar to cormorants, which we do have.  Best regards

Thanks for stopping by.......... had it not been so bloody windy, we could well have had a quick skinny-dip here.... it was so isolated (off the beaten track).

Thanks for your constructive input to this image. I could well have considered the slower shutter option had I had a tripod with me, but as we had envisaged a lengthy walk (which it turned out to be) I left it in the car.

I will be mindful of future opportunities..... thanks.

Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful vista here Grayham. I can see why it is one of your favorite beaches. I do see a bird on a rock (black?) in the right middle portion closer to the right edge of the composition. Is that a house on top, part way to the highest peak????

Thanks for your visit.

If memory serves, I think those houses (cottages) are the remnants of the original lighthouse settlement from back in the late 1800's. The lighthouse was moved sometime in the early 1900's. We tried to find our way to them, but the whole area seemed to be fenced-off.... probably unstable ground or something.

Thanks for your interest.

Best regards
