Nice. Would change a thing. Well done. I love how you managed to get the stars in, and how they make the shot. Maybe, I'd crop the plants on the lower part of the image out. Maybe... not sure.

I agree that it is a wonderful image. The night sky comes out beautifully, the water seems so serene. As someone else had commented, it might have been nice to cut out a bit more of the plants on the bottom edge - or to have put more of them in when taking the shot. Beautiful photo!

Esteve, Debra and Otto, thanks for your thoughts about the image.

Otto: Yes maybe it would be better to crop the plants in the foreground. Actually it was planned to have more of them, but I discovered when I got home that the horizon was not straight at all. So I had to rotate the image and then crop so the plants was reduced.

night  photography is a tricky business isn't ?

you can see what's there,  and  true lens  you see nothing at  all

anyway you managed well with crop and those contrasting colors are excellent

also clouds helped you a lot with your  composition

very good work Peter

regards

Thanks Przemek and Ruud for your words. Yes night photography is a bit tricky. Also here in Sweden where I live, near latitude 61 we dont have a dark night sky with visible stars from the beginning of May to the middle of August. So I had to wait during the whole summer to photograph a sky like this..

This is exquisite.  All blue and black except for a smudge of yellow-orange.  The composition I see here is perfect -- I wouldn't crop anything; it's nicely balanced.  The stars and furrowed clouds are wonderful.  Simply superb.

Thank you Stephen, I´m glad that you liked the photo. The yellow/orange light is from the moon. When the picture was taken it was more than one hour since it went down below the horizon, but due to the long exposure and hig ISO the moonlight was captured.
